There is no magic potion that can drastically change the numbers on the scale (at least not in a sure or lasting way). But there is one super potent drink that has been scientifically proven to aid weight loss: green tea. One of the healthiest drinks on the planet, green tea has been linked with a number of benefits, including boosting your metabolism and promoting healthy weight loss. Another way that green tea can help you reach your body goals? By turning your booty on as a source of caffeine. Drinking it can improve your physical performance and help you overcome training slumps due to the ability of caffeine to help convert fatty acids in tissue into energy. How Much Green Tea Should You Drink? “Most studies show that 2 to 5 cups of green tea per day may be beneficial for protection against heart disease and diabetes, as well as helping with weight loss,” says Laura Burak, MS, RD, author from Slim Down with Smoothies However, it’s important to note that âeveryone is different and metabolizes foods and drinks differently,â says Burak, who recommends incorporating green tea into your day without going overboard. âFind that happy medium and start with 2 cups a day.â That way it becomes a natural habit that is easier to stick to – and enjoy – in the long run. Kaiden agrees. . “With all of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, [green tea] can be very beneficial for an overall diet, but it’s not the quick fix that will make you suddenly skinny, âshe says.
