First-ever private train service reported from Coimbatore to Shirdi
India’s first-ever private train between Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and Shirdi in Maharashtra under Indian Railways’ “Bharat Gaurav scheme” was reported on Tuesday. With this, the Southern Railway becomes the first area of Indian Railways to get the first service provider registered under the “Bharat Gaurav” scheme and start operations of the first service from Coimbatore North to Sainagar Shirdi.
For its maiden voyage, the train was decorated with flowers and passengers were greeted with music and celebration. The train left Coimbatore North in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to reach Shirdi in Maharashtra on Thursday at 7:25 a.m. According to a press release from the Ministry of Railways, the train which is operated by a private operator: South Rail Star under the Bharat Gaurav scheme, will stop at Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Yelahanka, Dharmavaram, Mantralayam Road and Wadi before reaching its destination.
After a day’s halt, the train will resume its journey from Sai Nagar of Shirdi on Friday and reach Coimbatore North on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. “The train will cover several historical destinations on the route while giving passengers a glimpse of the country’s cultural heritage,” the Ministry of Tourism said in its tweet.

Features of India’s First Private Train
The private train service from Coimbatore North to Shirdi, themed to showcase India’s rich heritage and culture, has several features including an on-board doctor, private security and railway police. iron. Other features include branded housekeeping service providers who will clean utility areas at frequent intervals, experienced caterers providing the traditional vegetarian menus, coaches fitted with high-pitched bass speakers and a rail-mounted radio jockey to entertain passengers during the trip. To make the journey enjoyable, devotional songs, spiritual stories and live interviews will be made available to passengers.

Indian Railways launched the operation of Bharat Gaurav Theme Train in November 2021 with the aim of introducing the rich cultural heritage and beautiful historical places of India to the people of India and the world through these trains operated in the framework of this program.
