Datto on Monday unveiled what could be its final quarterly financial statements before going private as part of rival Kaseya’s $6.2 billion plan to acquire the company.

Due to the acquisition, Datto is breaking with tradition and not hosting a conference call for financial analysts. The company is also withdrawing its earlier guidance for the quarter and earlier announced that it would “postpone” its 2022 annual meeting of shareholders originally scheduled for May 5.

Kaseya and Datto announced last month that Kaseya would acquire Datto in a US$6.2 billion deal that would strengthen Kaseya’s position as the leading technology provider that offers RMM platforms to MSPs ( remote monitoring and management) and PSA (professional services automation) on which they run their practices as well as the applications that MSPs can provide to customers as a service.

Since the acquisition was disclosed, Datto has been pretty quiet with the information he provided giving SEC rules regarding public company mergers and acquisitions. Datto went public in October 2020 with the ticker symbol “MSP” in a move that reflects the fact that its clients are exclusively MSPs.

However, Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola spoke with CRN US about plans for Datto post-acquisition and its impact on Datto MSPs. Several Datto MSPs have told CRN US they are concerned about the impact Kaseya’s acquisition may have on their businesses given that Kaseya has direct operations and the corporate cultures of the two companies are different. .

Datto’s fiscal 2022 first quarter ended March 31, less than two weeks before Kaseya unveiled its plan to acquire Datto, meaning the financial results do not reflect any changes that may arise from the acquisition. .

For its fiscal 2022 first quarter, Datto reported revenue of $170.8 million, up nearly 18% from the company’s reported $144.9 million for its fiscal 2021 first quarter.

This amount includes subscription revenue of US$160.5 million, compared to US$135.6 million previously; Device revenue of US$9.5 million, compared to US$8.4 million previously; and professional services and other income of US$752 million, compared to US$934 million.

Datto’s device sales include data protection devices and networking gear targeting MSP customers.

For the quarter, Datto reported GAAP net income of $7.9 million, or 5 cents per share, down from $15.3 million a year ago, or 9 cents per share. On a non-GAAP basis, Datto reported net income of $23.4 million, or 14 cents per share, down from $29.5 million a year ago, or 18 cents per share. .

Datto also said it ended its first fiscal quarter of 2022 with more than 19,200 MSP partners, an increase of 700 from the previous quarter, and the number of MSPs contributing more than $100,000 in annual recurring revenue reached 1. 500, up 30% from last year.
