Annika Worth works for the Hilton Garden Inn Taman Palem
“Many years ago I worked at a wholly owned property in Australia that supported the ‘Make a Wish’ Foundation, a children’s charity that creates life-changing wishes for children aged 3-18. with serious illnesses,” shared Annika Worth.
“I felt so privileged to be able to make wishes come true and come true by providing exceptional experiences for these children and their families. I will cherish them all my life; the feeling of sincere goodness you feel and the sheer pleasure of seeing the joy on their faces,” she smiled sweetly.
An unforgettable memory like this inspired Annika Worth to continue serving others. Over the years, Worth is currently the only female general manager of Hilton in Indonesia. “I’m confident that as the brand portfolio grows in the next few years, we’ll see more female leaders,” she explained.
This appreciation wouldn’t have happened without Worth’s strong urge to challenge her professional abilities at the start of 2020. She knew what needed to be done: take a big step into Southeast Asia. Worth was excited to expand into a gateway city like Jakarta, moving away from its past efforts in running hotels in resort locations.
“I am really enjoying my time in Indonesia,” she said. “Indonesians, for me, have real sincerity. That’s why I chose to make a career here.”
Worth was part of the Hilton family and built her career with the brand for over 12 years. “Hilton is a fantastic brand that promotes inclusion and diversity in the workplace and provides equal learning and development opportunities to all of its team members,” Worth revealed, regarding his “pride in the diverse opportunities that Hilton offers team members – from career advancement to culturally diverse experiences” on Hilton Recognition.
She has come a long way since her first challenge with the brand in her native Australia. Originally from Melbourne, she studied travel and tourism in the UK, then returned to Australia where she began her hospitality career on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Over the next 15 years, Worth gained experience in a variety of industries including Food & Beverage, Rooms Division, Sales & Marketing, and Revenue Management.
A year, precisely in 2007, Worth moved to another country nicknamed “down under” – New Zealand. She was given the opportunity to be part of the pre-opening team for properties in the Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton cluster in Queenstown. Then she completed the Hilton General Manager Leadership and Women in Leadership programs, opening the door to the opportunity to become a Hilton Lake Taupo hotel manager.
In her current role as General Manager of Hilton Garden Inn Jakarta, Taman Palem has developed a sense of responsibility to share her experience with her team members, ensuring they have exciting and rewarding careers in hospitality. “I look forward to ensuring that all of our team members can deliver the Hilton Garden Inn promise to all guests, said Worth, noting her role. The Hilton Garden Inn Promise is the hotel’s goal to make guests’ stays brighter and better.
The Hilton Garden Inn Jakarta Taman Palem, Worth is “the perfect place for guests to enjoy modern accommodations and facilities that are complemented by the warm hospitality they receive at each of our hotels provided by our team members. The HGI is one of Hilton’s priority service brands. Worth explained that service is their number one priority, offering a great product at a great price. “We feel we’re doing it very well,” she added.
The hotel has 168 rooms available. Worth wants guests to remember that they can opt for different room sizes, ranging from 24 square meters of space for a room up to 61 square meters for suites. Apart from these are the King Family Suites; ideal for travelers with young families who can take advantage of the separate bedroom specially designed for children and equipped with a vibrant bed frame and play furniture.
Direct toll access to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is strongly supported by the hotel’s strategic location in the heart of West Jakarta. Just a 20-minute drive after landing has become one of the hotel’s selling points, lovingly attracting business travelers who need access flexibility. Holidaymakers are not forgotten since family stays are beautifully laid out. The hotel is connected to the Green Sedayu Mall, which offers a range of retail outlets, restaurants, bars and entertainment options.
Regardless of the agenda, Worth recommended aspiring hotel guests follow his version of a to-do list:
“Don’t worry about having breakfast. Customers are free to choose from the “cooked to order” menu or enjoy the buffet, or maybe both! All food is prepared just for the guests. Is it time for a workout? Our fitness center is located on the fifth floor.
“Spend time outdoors and at the pool. Take as many Instagrammable photos with the Jakarta city skyline as a backdrop as possible. Above all, sleep well in our comfortable hotel rooms with fluffy pillows and fluffy duvets. she shared.
Worth predicts domestic and international travel will increase, noting that Indonesia continues to ease border controls. Guests can take advantage of the Foodie Staycation, a special room rate promotion including breakfast and a la carte dining at The Garden Grille & Bar at the moment.
The next six months will oversee improvements to meeting and conference facilities through the Re-connect with Hilton program. “Soon, when people start having more meetings and gatherings again, we want to be part of it. We hope to bring families and businesses together here at Hilton, which they can experience through our meeting and wedding venues,” she said.
Being one of the international hotel chains located in the residential area, the hotel’s banquet halls are great options for hosting weddings and other social events. A wedding package is specially presented from Rp87.5 million net. “All you have to do is enjoy and relax on your wedding day, because our professional wedding team can help bring your dream wedding to life!” said Worth. Additionally, anyone looking for a venue to host social events can lock in packages starting at Rp 400,000 nett per person.
“If something isn’t the way you like it, just let everyone in the hotel know and we’ll make it right. Guaranteed, she concluded.
